What the client wanted. A young family — both architects themselves — bought a 4,200 sqft villa on a plot ringed with mature peepal and gulmohar. They wanted the interior to disappear into the landscape, not compete with it.
What we proposed. A restrained palette of linen, lime plaster, walnut and brass. Floor-to-ceiling fenestration on the western elevation. No false ceilings — exposed services painted out in matching tones. Built-in storage to keep the rooms uncluttered.
What was hard. The original RCC slab couldn't take the weight of an Italian marble bath we'd specified. We pivoted to a hand-poured terrazzo and ended up loving it more.
Counter slabs sourced via Kishangarh; bath terrazzo poured on-site.
Veneer from Greenply Decoply; solid timber doors from a Sahibabad mill.
Cabinet hinges, drawers, lift mechanisms — all soft-close, 10-yr warranty.
Door handles, kitchen tap, mandir alcove ferrules — all hand-soldered.
Royale on standard walls; lime plaster on living-room feature wall.
Recessed downlights; pendant lamps custom-fabricated from raw brass.
